Albert’s Museum Clue
School Readers · Level 9
Albert and Daphne follow a picture trail at the museum. Their next clue shows a thick curved handle, but the rest of the object is hidden.

Albert stops beside an old metal kettle in a glass case. “That has a curved handle,” he says, holding the card up beside the glass.

Daphne looks closely at the two shapes. The kettle’s handle is smooth, while the one on their card has three deep ridges along the top.

They ask the museum guide where they might look next. She points to a nearby case of objects people once used to care for their clothes.

Inside that case, Albert finds a heavy metal iron. Its thick handle curves over the top, with three ridges just like the ones in the drawing.

Daphne checks each ridge before they choose the iron. “We needed more than just a curved shape,” she says, putting the card beside the right picture.

The guide tells them how the iron was used long ago. Albert looks at its heavy base and thinks about the lighter iron he has seen at home.

They move on to the next clue together. Daphne keeps looking for small details, and Albert knows that two similar handles can belong to very different things.
