Anna’s Family Quilt
Shared Reading Books · Social Science · Ages 3–4
Anna finds a soft square. “This was your baby blanket,” says Dad.

Here is a blue square. It was on Anna’s old coat. “That was mine!” she says.

Dad has a green square. “Grandad gave us this cloth.” Anna feels its bumpy edge.

They put the squares together. “Here is our family,” says Anna. “Each piece has a story.”

Dad joins the squares with thread. Anna watches beside him. The pieces become a quilt.

Anna points to the little blue square. “My coat is too small now. I have grown!”

They spread the quilt on the sofa. Anna and Dad sit close. They tell the stories again.

“Our quilt keeps us warm,” says Anna. “And it helps us remember,” says Dad.
