Charles’s Fishing Float
School Readers · Level 5
Charles and Felix go fishing with Dad. They stand on the platform by the lake.

Dad puts a yellow float on the line. Charles watches it on the water.

The float drifts behind some reeds. Charles cannot see it now.

Charles points to a clear patch of water. There are no reeds in that spot.

Dad lifts the line out carefully. He casts it into the clear water.

Now Charles can see the yellow float. The boys watch it bob up and down.

The float dips, and Dad lifts the rod. There is a small fish on the line.

Dad returns the fish to the lake. Charles and Felix wave as it swims away.
