Ellie’s Little Seed

Ellie looks at a little seed. “What will you be?” she asks.
Mum puts the seed in soft soil. Ellie points to its new home.
They add a little water. Mum sets the pot by a bright window.
Ellie looks the next day. “No green plant yet!” “It takes time,” says Mum.
They keep the soil damp. They look again, day after day.
One day, a shoot peeps up. “Here you are!” says Ellie.
More days pass. A little leaf opens. Then another leaf opens too.
Ellie looks at her green plant. “You were a tiny seed!” Mum smiles. “Look how you grew.”
