Emma’s Picnic Mat

Emma and Sam wanted a picnic. Mum helped them spread a mat on the grass.
A little wind blew across the garden. One corner of the mat curled up.
Emma pressed the corner flat. Up it curled again!
Sam held one corner, and Emma held another. “But we want to sit down,” said Sam.
Mum had an idea. She put two big blocks on the curling corners.
The corners stayed flat. The mat did not curl up again.
Mum set out their food. Emma and Sam sat together on the mat.
“Our picnic is ready!” said Emma. The friends ate their lunch together.
