Harry’s Magnet Hunt

Mum holds a big magnet. Harry looks at a spoon, a block and a cup. “What will it pull?”
“Let’s try the wooden block,” says Mum. She brings the magnet close. The block stays still.
Next is the plastic cup. Mum holds the magnet near it. The cup stays still too.
Harry points to the steel spoon. “What about that?” Mum moves the magnet close.
The spoon moves towards it. Click! It sticks. Harry points and smiles.
“It did not pull them all!” says Harry. “This magnet pulls the steel spoon,” says Mum. They look at the other things.
Mum lowers the spoon to the table. She moves the magnet close again. The spoon moves again.
“We looked, then we tried!” says Harry. Mum puts the magnet away. Their hunt is done.
