Imogen’s Windy Hat

Imogen and Felicity are playing a garden game. Mum brings their drinks to the bench.

Imogen puts her yellow hat beside her cup. Then she runs back to join Felicity.

A gust lifts the hat off the bench. It rolls across the grass towards a tree.

The girls follow it, but the hat stops above them. Its ribbon is caught on a low branch.

“We cannot reach it,” says Imogen. Felicity calls Mum instead of climbing the tree.

Mum lifts the ribbon gently off the branch. She gives the hat back to Imogen.

Imogen puts it on and checks that it fits. Now she can go back to their game.

When they stop for a drink, she keeps the hat on. Felicity laughs when the next gust ruffles their hair.
