Josephine’s Pet Bed

Josephine and Constance make a bed for Pip. The puppy has a basket by the sofa.

They put a soft blanket in the basket. Josephine folds it into a thick square.

Pip steps in, then steps out again. The folded blanket leaves little room for him.

Constance spreads the blanket out flatter. She tucks the edges into the basket.

Pip sniffs the bed and turns around. He lies down, but his toy is on the floor.

Josephine puts the toy beside the basket. Pip reaches out and pulls it closer.

Soon the puppy shuts his eyes. The girls sit quietly on the sofa.

Mum smiles when she sees the sleeping puppy. The girls have made a cosy place for Pip.
