Joyce’s Bus Pass
School Readers · Level 7
Joyce and Felix wait in school reception before a trip. Their teacher asks everyone to have a bus pass ready.

Joyce opens the front pocket of her bag. Her pass is not there, so she checks the pocket again.

“I had it when I came in,” she says. Felix suggests putting the bag down and checking one place at a time.

Joyce looks in the main part of the bag. She finds her lunch and water, but no small plastic card.

Then she remembers taking off her coat. She feels inside the deep pocket on the left side.

There is the pass, tucked behind her gloves. Joyce takes it out and shows it to the waiting teacher.

She puts it in the small zip pocket of her bag. She closes the zip and checks it with her hand.

Now Joyce knows where to find it. She and Felix join the group, with time to spare before the bus arrives.
