June’s Cloudy Car Window
School Readers · Level 6
June and Oscar sit in Uncle Mark’s parked car. They are taking a model boat to the school fair.

The inside of June’s window looks cloudy. Tiny drops of water hide the view of the gate.

June draws a small line in the mist with one finger. A narrow clear mark appears on the glass.

She can see the gate through that line. But the rest of the window is still covered.

Uncle Mark keeps the car parked. He turns on the fan to clear the mist from the windows.

Warm air blows across the front window. The cloudy patch slowly becomes smaller and thinner.

Oscar holds the model boat flat on his lap. They wait until Uncle Mark can see clearly through the glass.

At last, the windows are clear. June watches the gate as Uncle Mark checks that they are ready to leave.
