Lily’s Missing Rabbit
Shared Reading Books · Social Stories · Ages 3–4
Lily reaches into her bag for Rabbit. Rabbit has soft grey ears and a little round tail. Today, the pocket feels empty. Lily looks inside again.

Rabbit is not there. Lily feels sad. Dad stays close. Ms Pine asks where Lily last had him. Lily points towards the reading corner. They walk there together.

Dad lifts a cushion. Ms Pine looks beside the books. Lily spots something grey behind the basket. She points. Two soft ears are peeping out.

“Rabbit!” Lily reaches down and picks him up. She feels relieved. Dad gives her time to hold him. They do not need to rush straight into play.

Lily puts Rabbit in a little bed beside her chair. She can see his ears while she looks at a book. Looking together helped her find him.
