Lionel’s Paper Plane
School Readers · Level 7
Lionel and Douglas make a paper-plane game in the playground. Their teacher draws a big chalk circle for a target.

Lionel sends the white plane towards the circle. A breeze turns it to one side before it lands.

He tries again, but the plane misses the target. Douglas notices that one wing is bent down.

“Let us check both wings,” says Douglas. The boys take the plane over to a bench.

They straighten the bent wing and smooth its fold. Then their teacher suggests a nearer starting line.

Lionel stands at the new line and tries a gentle throw. The plane glides just inside the edge of the circle.

Douglas has the next turn, and Lionel watches. Their plane lands inside the target once more.

The boys collect the plane when the game is over. They keep it flat in a box so its wings stay straight.
