Lucy’s Cosy Den

Lucy wanted a little den. She put a rug under the garden table.

Mum helped her put a blanket over the table. “Here is my den!” said Lucy.

Lucy sat down on the rug. The blanket slipped onto the grass.

Lucy put the blanket back. It slipped again. Her den would not stay up.

“Let’s try a new plan,” said Mum. “I have two big clips.”

Mum put a clip on each side of the table. Lucy watched her clip the blanket in place.

Lucy went inside. This time, the blanket stayed up!

Anna wanted to join Lucy. “Is there room for me?” she asked.

“Yes!” said Lucy. The friends sat together on the rug.

Mum brought them a picture book. It was cosy in Lucy’s little den.
