Peter’s Bike Trail
School Readers · Level 9
Peter and David take their bikes to the park with Dad. They plan to follow the trail around the little lake.

At the first corner, David spots a wooden arrow. “It points this way,” he says, turning towards the wide path.

Further along, they reach two paths beside a bench. A fallen branch covers the next arrow, so they stop their bikes.

Peter wants to turn left, but David is not sure. “Let us check before we choose,” says Dad.

Dad moves the light branch off the marker. Now they can see that the arrow points to the right.

They walk their bikes around the corner before riding again. Soon the lake appears between the trees, just as their map shows.

At the picnic spot, they notice the left path across the grass. It leads to the playground, away from their planned trail.

“We can try that path another day,” says Peter. Today they finish the lake trail together and tell Mum how they found the way.
