Peter’s New Neighbour

A woman carries a box. “This is Mrs Bell,” says Mum. “She is our new neighbour.”
“Hello,” says Peter. Mrs Bell smiles and waves. “My hands are very full!”
Mum asks, “Would you like some help?” “Yes, please,” says Mrs Bell. She points to a little pot.
Mum carries the pot to the step. Peter walks beside her. “It has a flower!” he says.
Mrs Bell puts the pot by her door. “Now I can find my new home!” Peter laughs.
“We live just there,” says Peter. He points across the low gate. “We are neighbours.”
Peter waves as they go home. “See you again!” Next door feels a little more familiar now.
