Rosie’s Windy Picture
Shared Reading Books · Technology · Ages 3–4
Rosie draws a big yellow sun. She wants to put it by the garden fence for Mum to see. “My picture can go here,” she says.

She leans the paper against the fence. A breeze lifts the corner. The picture flaps down onto the grass. Rosie picks it up.

Mum brings a smooth board. Rosie lays the picture flat on it. “Now it has something behind it,” she says. But the corner still lifts.

They try a little strip of reusable tape. Rosie presses it across one corner. That corner stays still. The other side flaps in the breeze.

“This side needs holding too,” says Rosie. Mum offers two big spring clips. Rosie squeezes one with Mum’s help and lets it close over the edge.

They clip the other side. Each clip holds paper against the board. Rosie lifts it gently. Her picture stays flat. “Look, Mum!”

Mum holds the board near the fence. The breeze comes again. The paper stays under the clips. Rosie points to her big yellow sun.

They put the board on the sheltered porch shelf. “My picture has a place,” says Rosie. She leaves the clips on until it is time to go indoors.
