Sophie at the Library

Sophie goes to the library with Nana. “So many books!” she says.

They look along a low shelf. Sophie wants a book about buses. She cannot find one.

“We can ask,” says Nana. The librarian listens. “A bus book? Come this way.”

She shows them a book with a red bus. Sophie opens it gently. “This is the one!”

They sit on a soft rug. Nana reads. Sophie points to the wheels.

“Can it come home?” asks Sophie. “Yes,” says Nana. “We can borrow it.”

Nana checks the book out. “We will bring it back,” she says. “Then someone else can borrow it.”

Sophie carries the book in a bag. “Thank you!” she says. A new story is coming home.
