Sophie’s Double Deck: Activities

Shared Reading · Year 2. An adult reads the questions and clues aloud. Children can talk, point, sign or choose an answer. For Jumbled Words, show the matching vocabulary word and build it together; children do not need to read independently.

Tell the story

Retell the story in order. Explain the problem, the characters’ ideas and how they checked their solution. Make two rows of four large objects. Pair them to check equality, then count eight altogether. Try doubling two or three.
