Stanley’s Toy Ferry
School Readers · Level 5
Stanley and Colin make a little toy ferry. Dad fills a shallow tray with water.

Stanley puts the ferry on the water. It floats near the side of the tray.

Stanley puts a bear and a fox at one end. That end of the ferry sinks low.

Stanley moves the bear to the other end. The ferry sits more level now.

Dad asks them to try a gentle push. Stanley pushes the ferry with one finger.

It glides across the water without tipping. The bear and fox stay on the deck.

Colin catches the ferry by the far side. He lets Stanley choose where it goes next.

They take the toy animals for another ride. Dad calls it a very busy ferry.
