The Photo Hunt
School Readers · Level 11
James and Anna have a photo task for school. They must find three shapes in the park. “A circle, a square and a triangle,” says Anna. James takes out their camera.

They find a round wheel on a parked bike. “That is our circle,” says James. Anna holds the camera steady and takes a photo. Then they look for a square.

James points to a paving stone. It has four sides that are the same length. Anna takes another photo. “Two shapes found,” she says. “Now we need a triangle.”

They look at trees, benches and flowers. They see many shapes, but not the one they need. James sits down on a bench. “This is harder than I thought,” he says.

Anna looks up at a small picnic shelter. Its roof makes a triangle at the end. “Look above us!” she says. James takes the last photo. They have found all three shapes.

Back at school, they show the photos to their class. “The last shape was above our heads,” says James. Anna smiles. “We had to look in a new way.”
