The Tent in the Wind
School Readers · Level 5
Patrick and Clara put up the tent. Dad is there to help.

A gust of wind blows against the tent. The tent flap lifts up.

Clara holds the flap down. But the wind lifts it again.

“We need to check the ropes,” says Dad. Patrick looks at one loose rope.

Clara keeps the tent still. Dad pushes the peg into firm ground.

Patrick pulls the rope tight with Dad. Now it holds the side down.

They check the rope on the other side too. Dad makes that peg firm.

The breeze comes back. This time, the tent stays in place.

Patrick and Clara put their bags inside. Their tent is ready for the night.
