The Upside-Down Campsite
Phase 10 · Book 1Focus un-, re-, dis- and mis-

Anna and Tom unpack for a garden camping game. Dad brings two bags from the shed. They unfold the tent cloth. “This will be our best campsite!” says Anna.

Tom pulls out a spoon, a boot and a puppet. “Have we misread the labels?” asks Anna. Dad checks the bags. “Oh! I misplaced the camping bag.”

Anna feels unhappy. “I disagree with using a puppet as a tent peg,” she says. Tom puts the puppet on his hand. “I disagree too!” squeaks the puppet.

Dad finds the camping bag behind a box. They unpack it and untie the string. Tom sorts the pegs. Anna sorts the poles. “Now we can rebuild,” says Dad.

A corner of the tent cloth is inside out. Anna unclips it and turns it round. Tom resets the pegs with Dad. Together, they remake the campsite.

They sit in the tent and share a snack. Tom brings back the puppet. “May I rejoin the game?” it squeaks. “Yes—but no more upside-down camping!” laughs Anna.
