Thomas and the Postie
Shared Reading Books · Social Science · Ages 3–4
Thomas has a picture for Gran. He draws a big yellow flower. “Can we send it?”

Aunt May folds the picture. She puts it in an envelope. Thomas pats it flat.

Aunt May writes where Gran lives. “This is her address,” she says. “And here is a stamp.”

They walk to the post box together. Aunt May lifts the flap. In goes the letter!

On the way home, they see the postie. “What is in your bag?” asks Thomas. “Letters for this street.”

The postie puts a letter in their letterbox. “This one is for your home.” Aunt May takes it inside.

Some days later, Gran calls. “My flower came!” she says. Thomas smiles at Aunt May.

“The postie helped our picture travel,” says Thomas. He gets another sheet of paper. “What shall I draw next?”
