Tom’s Tall Tower

Tom wanted to build a tall tower. Ben brought the big blocks outside.

Tom put one block on the grass. He put more blocks on top.

The tower wobbled. Down it fell!

Tom built it again in the same place. Wobble, wobble. Down it fell again.

Dad came to look. “The grass is bumpy here,” he said.

Dad put a flat board on the ground. “Try building on this,” he said.

Tom and Ben made a wide base. They put the first big blocks side by side.

Then they added more blocks on top. Up, up went the tower!

This time, the tower stayed up. It was tall, and the base was wide.

“We did it!” said Tom. Ben smiled. They had found a new way to build.
